Our story
Our story started in 1937 when the people of Whitehawk wanted to build space for a church at the heart of their neighbourhood.
It was bombed in the war but rebuilt by the people in 1951 with special support from children raising money across the south coast — it was known as The Children’s Church.
In 2014, St Cuthman’s received a team from St Peter’s Church in Brighton to build on the heritage that was already here and kick-start a new chapter in the life of the Church.
We are here to be part of Whitehawk, to love Whitehawk and be good neighbours. We believe that God loves Whitehawk.
We believe that church is about people. It’s a community with a purpose, that exists to help people find their way to God, get support for all that life brings up and find friendships.
We want you to join in and be part of this. If you’re new to the area or thinking about trying church then we’d love to meet you. Get in touch here on our website and follow us on our social media platforms.
